Hyland’s Leg Cramps is the awesome and primary sponsor of Pickleball Channel. They recently introduced pickleball to the employees at Hyland’s during an employee gathering. It was a whole lot of fun as everyone got a chance to play. We were joined by several USAPA Ambassadors who were very helpful as they instructed everyone. We encourage everyone to give pickleball a try!

Loved pickle ball from the first game! So much fun and great exercise.
I had never heard of Pickleball until a friend of mine moved back to Knoxville and told me about it. She said “you have to try this because I know you will love it”. I have sat behind a desk for 20 years and done absolutely nothing physical beyond cleaning my house, garage and truck and believe me I felt every bit of it the first time I played Pickleball. I was pretty lousy at it at first but I am HOOKED. I love Pickleball! I feel like I have finally gotten back to the person I want to be. I’m not the best at it but I’m not bad either so I am making progress and loving every minute of it. I have met some very nice people who are in it for the same reason I am; fun, exercise and getting out and staying active. I am 70 years old and I’m having a great time again. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to have fun – an lose weight!!!
Hello Barbara,
I am glad that you have found this great sport. There is pickleball in Knoxvill. The group based in Maryville plays there also.
I am the S. E. Ambassador for USAPA. If I can help with anything, please let me know. If you play in a group in Knoxville, I would appreciate hearing about when and where and any other info you would like to share.
As ‘someone’ says, Pickleball Rocks.

It was fun watch the employees of Hyland’s learning about our wonderful game first hand. I’m sure some will continue to play after they have tried it.
I had been playing racquetball at a facility for several years and it was closing for good the week before Christmas. I was bumbed out out because the nearest facility was going to be 35 miles away.
Over the Christmas break Patty and were camping at park in the San Diego area. I saw 4 people on the tennis court playing a game and went over to check it out. My first impression was it looked like a guy about to turn 65 could have some real fun without getting exhausted or hurt in the process. So it began at first I was a bit awkward but then I got excited playing at the net. My quick reflexes combined with hitting the ball weel got me excited. I was hooked instantly and I have never missed playing racquetball since. Love the game with a funny name!!!
You are your camera guys do a very nice job capturing all sorts of aspects of the great game of pickleball. Thanks and Happy Holidays!
Great way to get employees to exercise. I just had one problem–the footwear–boots, work shoes, and dress shoes. I just cringed as I watched the parade of unsuitable shoes. It is a great way for someone to get injured. I get comments all the time about the numerous injuries from pickleball. I think a lot of injuries come from the wrong footwear and people who don’t regularly exercise going out and “going all out” to chase the ball.
I would like to see more businesses doing what they are doing–providing courts, but they need to be mindful of stretching, easing into it and most importantly, the correct court shoes. I think from the liability standpoint, you don’t want people to get hurt and ruin a good thing.
